The Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) – located in Wuhan in China’s Central Hubei province – has made great strides in developing its electronic appliances industry, giving full play to the advantage of having leading companies in the sector located there, including Haier, Gree and the Midea Group.
Industries such as biological pharmaceuticals, modern Chinese medicine, synthetic drugs and health services will be prioritized in the WEDZ.
The zone aims to incubate 10-20 large high-end equipment manufacturing enterprises by 2020 and become an international competitive industrial base.
The zone introduces and incubates basic industries which are closely related to smart industries, including photo-communication, next generation information technology and equipment, integrated circuits, information technology service, e-commerce and digital publishing.
The zone prioritizes the development of high-end metal, new inorganic non-metallic and advanced chemical material industries and supports key enterprises.
