Dongfeng Stellantis Automotive Technology (Wuhan) Co was unveiled on Aug 20 in Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ).
This new venture, backed by key stakeholders including Dongfeng Motor Corporation and Stellantis Group, has an investment of 8.2 billion yuan ($1.22 billion).
The company will mainly focus on vehicle research and development, industrial investment, and sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs).
It plans to launch four NEV models starting in 2027, featuring pure electric and plug-in hybrid technologies to meet consumer needs such as off-road adventures, urban commuting, and family travel.
