Wuhan Kingfa Co in Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) has achieved a significant breakthrough in creating materials for humanoid robot joints. Its specialized high-temperature-resistant materials are now being supplied in large quantities to top robotics firms.
The high-temperature-resistant specialty materials, including ultra-heat-resistant PEEK composites and modified polyamides, are now used in critical components such as joints, skeletons, and dexterous hand skins of humanoid robots. These innovations reduce the density of these components by over 30 percent compared to steel, making robots lighter and more agile.
This technological breakthrough is supported by Wuhan Kingfa's continuous R&D investment. The company has collaborated with Chery, Midea, and TCL to create joint laboratories. It holds 232 invention patents, of which 139 have been granted, and has invested more than 200 million yuan ($29 million) in R&D in 2025.
Wuhan Kingfa also launched an intelligent expansion project in 2025 for its new materials R&D and production base, including upgrading automation in blending processes and smart metering and packaging, which is expected to boost annual production capacity.
Wuhan Kingfa's output exceeded 5 billion yuan in 2025, supported by over 40 automated production lines. The company dispatches 750 metric tons of high-performance new materials daily to top-tier clients, including BYD, Chery, and Gree.
