Wuhan Superconductor Intelligent Equipment Technology Co, based in Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ), announced the successful completion of a seed funding round totaling nearly 100 million yuan ($14.79 million) on July 28.
This significant investment will be channeled into research and development of superconducting intelligent equipment technology, the establishment of platforms and production lines, and the recruitment of top-tier talent.
Wuhan Superconductor focuses on four main areas: future energy, advanced manufacturing, quantum metrology, and precision instruments. It plans to develop three key platforms: a basic experiment platform for superconducting intelligent devices, a pilot production platform, and a full-scale testing platform.
Wuhan Superconductor has established a research institute and a pilot platform dedicated to superconducting induction heating, phase shifters, and magnetic single crystal pulling.
"We are collaborating with leading enterprises in the automotive and materials industries in Hubei province to provide technological support for automotive lightweighting and precision manufacturing," said Chen Hao, general manager of Wuhan Superconductor.
Chen added that his company plans to establish a joint laboratory with Huazhong University of Science and Technology to conduct collaborative R&D on common superconducting technologies.
An exchange conference was also held the same day, where electromagnetic experts from Wuhan Superconductor shared insights into investment opportunities and applications in the superconducting industry.
