Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) launched its first series of 41 summer care classes on July 14, welcoming nearly 1,500 students to embark on a joyful holiday experience.
In one of the care classes supported by Dongfeng Motor, children were captivated by a lesson on the everyday applications of cranes. Using science experiment kits, they were able to assemble their own remote-controlled cranes, sparking both curiosity and hands-on learning.
Dongfeng Motor also hosted a care class at its Voyah factory, offering a program that includes homework assistance, interactive games, and science exploration. Mr Wei, an employee at Voyah Auto, said, "Knowing our children are happy here allows us to focus on our work with peace of mind."
Li Yongjia, a representative from Dongfeng Motor, said the care program has expanded to cities such as Shiyan, Xiangyang, and Guangzhou, benefiting over 600 children of employees within the Dongfeng Motor and automotive industrial network.
At the Junshan subdistrict summer care class, firefighters taught children about fire safety and emergency evacuation procedures for fires and earthquakes.
Eight-year-old Xiao Ziyi shared her excitement: "Today, we learned about fire and water safety, and I made many new friends. It was a lot of fun."
Parents can register for the second round of summer care programs from July 27 to 31 via the "Youth Wuhan" WeChat account.
