The cross-Strait (Wuhan) new energy and intelligent connected vehicle industry conference, a key event of the 20th Hubei-Wuhan Taiwan Week, was held on July 10 in Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ).
The conference brought together nearly 300 participants from both sides of the Taiwan Strait, focusing on the integration of the new energy and intelligent connected vehicle industrial chain and fostering technical collaboration.
This year marks the 11th consecutive Taiwan Week event hosted by WEDZ. The Cross-Strait (Wuhan) Vehicle Technology Innovation Alliance, established in 2023, has grown to include 128 members, comprising 81 Taiwan enterprises and 47 Chinese mainland enterprises.
Central China's first Cross-Strait Intelligent Connected Vehicle Industry Integration Development Demonstration Base was established in the zone in 2025, serving as a platform for cross-chain collaboration and facilitating joint research and development breakthroughs between local vehicle enterprises and Taiwan companies.
Liu Ziqing, Party secretary of the WEDZ administrative committee, highlighted the significance of Taiwan Week as a vital platform for economic and cultural exchanges between the two sides.
He encouraged entrepreneurs to increase their investment in Wuhan and WEDZ by bringing in high-quality projects, cutting-edge technologies, and industry expertise.
Dongfeng Motor shared its product initiative and invited Taiwan businesses to collaborate. A representative of the zone's intelligent connected and electric vehicle industrial park provided a detailed presentation showcasing the park's industrial foundation, policy advantages, and cooperative platforms.
Attendees also visited the Dongfeng Motor's global innovation center and Voyah Automobile, gaining insights into the companies' research and development plans, innovation achievements, and industrial advancements.
WEDZ held four special matchmaking sessions prior to the conference, aiming to facilitate in-depth exchanges and explore potential project collaborations between Taiwan business representatives and local companies such as Voyah, Dongfeng Yipai, and the new materials industrial park.
WEDZ has been collaborating with Taiwan since the 1990s and now hosts nearly 30 Taiwan enterprises, including Master Kong, MingHsiang Automobile, and Quan Chia Electronics.
These companies operate across five major sectors: electronics, chips, communications, components, and food and beverages, generating an annual output of nearly 10 billion yuan ($1.47 billion) and creating over 5,000 jobs.
