Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) is spearheading the transformation of data into a valuable asset.
Dongfeng Motor Corporation's R&D Institute is at the forefront of such efforts, carrying out a comprehensive inventory and ownership confirmation of data assets across various domains, such as connected vehicles, R&D operations, and sales and after-sales services.
With the aid of an intelligent data query platform, the time required for decision-making data retrieval has been reduced, leading to optimized single-vehicle R&D costs and increasing aftermarket revenue by over 20 million yuan ($2.95 million) annually.
China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) Wuhan Zhixing International Engineering Consulting Co has focused on concrete mix data sets, reviewing 2TB of data resources across nearly 40 systems.
This initiative has resulted in cost savings of 5 to 12 yuan per cubic meter and a maximum carbon reduction of 47 kilograms across multiple construction projects.
Jingsui Technology has also made significant strides by developing a comprehensive metro tunnel management data set, integrating over 5 million data points spanning 25 lines and 1,500 kilometers of tunnels.
A local official said that WEDZ, with its robust industrial foundation, has amassed extensive data resources in sectors such as automotive manufacturing and engineering construction.
The zone plans to collaborate with high-quality provincial and municipal platforms to facilitate data element policy interpretation, technical exchanges, and supply-demand matchmaking activities.
