Five enterprises from Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) have been recognized in the 2026 Advanced-Level Smart Factory initiative, as recently announced by the Department of Economy and Information Technology of Hubei Province.
The selection for Advanced-Level Smart Factories is based on key indicators such as equipment digitization rate, data collection and application capabilities, and business process integration.
Highlights of the recognized factories are as follows:
CALB Wuhan factory has developed an intelligent system framework encompassing five key areas: R&D, production, equipment, operations, and decision-making. It integrates digital systems for resource planning, manufacturing execution, and product management, facilitating real-time data exchange across all processes. All of the factory’s workshop equipment is digitally controlled, with an automation rate exceeding 90 percent for product assembly.
Wuhan Haier factory has upgraded its processes in unmanned pre-assembly, automated assembly, digital inspection, and smart logistics. By deploying robotic arms, automated conveyor lines, and automated security checks, the factory achieves real-time visual management of the entire production process. Its digital application system encompasses production sites, quality control, and equipment operations, achieving a box shell forming efficiency of 18 seconds per unit.
Wuhan Dingyi Food Co has integrated digital systems across production, procurement, warehousing, and logistics to create a unified management platform. This integration enables automated operations such as raw material identification, precise measurement, and intelligent feeding.
WEDZ has continued to promote the intelligent transformation and upgrading of its manufacturing sector, cultivating 30 advanced-level and 25 basic-level smart factories.
