Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) will host a dragon boat invitational on the Maying River on June 16, bringing together teams from eight universities, including Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), Wuhan University, and Wuhan University of Technology (WUT), to compete in 200-meter races.

The Maying River boasts a rich tradition of dragon boat racing, having hosted numerous Dragon Boat Festival races over the years, with dragon boat training now a common sight along its banks.

WEDZ is renowned for its comprehensive sports facilities, supporting programs including swimming, ball sports, and paddleboarding. The zone has also hosted numerous top-tier international and domestic events.

At the same time, the zone is accelerating the development of an innovation belt to create a talent hub by establishing campuses for HUST, WUT, and Jianghan University. The opening of HUST's Junshan campus and Wuhan Business University's Maying River campus will infuse new energy into the region's fitness initiatives, fostering a growing synergy between education and sports.

The venue will also offer a rich array of dining, shopping, and entertainment experiences, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in folk customs, cultural heritage, and local delicacies.

Top-quality vehicles from Voyah, Yipai, and Dongfeng Honda will be showcased and available for purchase.
