The Junshan branch of Tongji Hospital in Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) is set to launch a specialized sleep medicine ward, offering inpatient services for the diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of sleep disorders.
The ward will provide in-hospital and portable home sleep monitoring, along with preliminary screenings. "For patients with sleep disorders, we first invite them to 'take a nap' while using our monitoring equipment to diagnose their condition," said Sheng Xin, a physician in the ward.
Once a diagnosis is made, personalized and precise treatment plans are crafted using professional therapy equipment and the CBTI (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia) management system.
The hospital specializes in six key areas: neurology, cardiology, emergency care, orthopedics, general medicine, and traditional Chinese medicine. It has expanded its services by opening an integrated Chinese and Western medicine clinic in March and establishing dedicated wards for neurology and sports medicine in April.
A hospital representative emphasized the institution's commitment to advancing specialized disease treatment, promoting cross-disciplinary collaboration, and strengthening the integration of medical engineering with clinical research.
Key initiatives include establishing joint laboratories and organizing the BCI Brain-Controlled Robot Competition.
The hospital has opened its General Outpatient and Emergency Department, ENT Outpatient Department, and Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Outpatient Department, offering over 20 clinical specialties.
It now boasts eight inpatient wards, one clinical ward, and more than 400 beds, meeting the healthcare needs of residents in Junshan New City and the surrounding areas.
