Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) has launched its occupational health management center, enhancing convenience for local employees.

Ding Tao, a representative from an automotive parts company in the zone, brought five new employees to the center on May 11. In just over an hour, they completed all necessary health check-up procedures.

"It's very convenient," Ding said. "We can complete blood tests, chest X-rays, lung tests, and other examinations all in one place." Previously, companies had to travel over two hours round trip to the Wuhan Prevention and Treatment Center for Occupational Diseases. Now, reaching the center takes only about 10 minutes, reducing hassle for businesses.

The center offers a comprehensive range of services, including occupational health examinations, technical services for occupational and radiological health, and occupational health training. It is now fully operational on a regular basis.

It will also assist authorities with risk assessments and suspected case referrals, aiming to establish a complete service chain of screening, assessment, intervention and referral.

This initiative is a concrete step toward optimizing the business environment and safeguarding workers' rights, said a local official. The center plans to collaborate with other medical institutions to bring more health services to businesses and workers.
