Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) has achieved a significant milestone, with 11 enterprises added to the 2026 list of Hubei Provincial SME (small and medium-sized enterprises) Technology Centers.
The new additions bring the total number of provincial-level and higher innovation platforms in the zone to more than 100.
These centers provide crucial support by building talent platforms, attracting innovative technical talent, increasing R&D investment, and overcoming key technological challenges.
They also play a vital role in enhancing collaboration between industry, academia, and research, accelerating the transformation of scientific and technological achievements into practical applications.
The centers focus on new energy and intelligent connected vehicles, artificial intelligence, and the low-altitude economy.
WEDZ has in recent years been working to improve its support services for technology enterprises, resulting in over 2,000 high-tech enterprises, a fivefold increase since 2020.
