Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) hosted an event on April 28 to enhance intellectual property (IP) protection for the automotive industry, aiming to create a comprehensive one-stop mechanism that combines local coordination, international collaboration, and regional cooperation.
As part of this effort, the IP rights protection service workstation for cross-border e-commerce was unveiled, offering policy consultations and rights protection assistance.
The First-aid Center for Intellectual Property on Automobiles and Parts also signed cooperation agreements with key departments, including the court, public security bureau, and market supervision bureau, to strengthen the IP protection network, boost policy promotion for automotive exports, and enhance services for major enterprises.
The center also established a memorandum of cooperation with cities such as Xiaogan, Xiangyang, and Shiyan, marking the first cross-regional IP collaborative protection system in Hubei province focused on the automotive industrial corridor.
The system aims to facilitate the quick transfer of infringement clues, provide rapid responses to overseas disputes, and offer compliance guidance for key enterprises.
Experts shared insights on emerging fields of IP protection and risk management for automotive exports, providing practical guidance to participating enterprises.
WEDZ has been working to strengthen its position as a leading IP zone, with nearly 3,500 invention patents authorized in 2025 and high-value invention patents reaching 65 per 10,000 people.
