A delegation led by Liu Ziqing, Party secretary of the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) administrative committee, visited the Valeo Group headquarters on April 13 to discuss further investment opportunities with CEO Christophe Perillat.

Valeo Group, a leader in electrification, advanced driver assistance systems, intelligent lighting, and software-defined vehicles, has been a significant player in WEDZ since establishing a lighting systems facility there in 1995.

The company has since expanded its presence with a headlamp R&D center and a global software technology center, dispatching nearly 4 million headlights globally each year.

The Valeo Wuhan R&D Center employs over 1,500 researchers, representing one-third of Valeo’s research team in China. Among its innovations is an ultra-thin high/low beam module, measuring just 15 millimeters in height, which meets the demands of domestic car manufacturers and has made successful inroads into the European market.

Liu highlighted Valeo's long-standing relationship with Wuhan, inviting Valeo to utilize its innovative capabilities to deliver more R&D achievements in intelligent driving, and promising that authorities will improve the business environment and government services to support Valeo's development.

Perillat expressed optimism about the Chinese market and confidence in Valeo's growth prospects in Wuhan, noting that Valeo plans to increase R&D investment in electrification and intelligence, as well as accelerate new project investments to enhance existing capacity.
