A delegation from Hubei Cultural Tourism Group visited Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) on April 10 to finalize plans for accelerating the development of the zone's low-altitude industry.

WEDZ partnered with Chutian General Aviation in 2024, a subsidiary of Hubei Cultural Tourism Group, to launch the province's first regular low-altitude short-haul passenger route, connecting Wuhan with Shiyan and Jingzhou. This route has achieved 400 hours of safe operation and has served over 800 passengers.

To further strengthen its presence in WEDZ, Hubei Cultural Tourism Group is establishing Hubei Chutian Aviation Co, which will focus on general aviation operations, maintenance services, aircraft research and manufacturing, and low-altitude big data.

WEDZ has developed a unique low-altitude economic cluster that integrates research and development with operational services. It is a leader in the research, development, and manufacturing of electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft, medium- and large-sized unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as in the application of low-altitude passenger and cargo transportation, cultural tourism, and sightseeing scenarios.

WEDZ plans to invest in new infrastructure for low-altitude industries and establish dedicated industrial funds to support Hubei Cultural Tourism Group's "low-altitude + cultural tourism" business initiatives.
