A convoy of trucks carrying 444 Dongfeng passenger vehicles recently departed from the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ)'s Comprehensive Bonded Zone, bound for Europe.

The bonded zone exported a total of 6,750 vehicles in the first two months of this year, with a total value of 708 million yuan ($102 million) – a 225 percent year-on-year increase.

Exports to Belt and Road Initiative countries grew by 205 percent, while exports of new energy vehicles surged by 280 percent.

"This significant growth can be attributed to the implementation of a series of regulatory innovations from customs and the robust support of the zone's complete industrial chain," said Peng Zhihui, head of a WEDZ logistics company.

The bonded zone's exports encompass all categories of passenger vehicles, with high-end products, such as Voyah and M-Hero, steadily increasing their market share. The export market continues to expand into regions such as Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and South America.

Wuhan Customs has introduced a "one ticket, multiple vehicles" model, enabling enterprises to "report in batches and dispatch individually". This flexibility in arranging shipments according to logistical schedules significantly enhances declaration and shipment efficiency. The new model is expected to help enterprises save 30 percent on transportation costs and double logistics efficiency.

The innovative clearance method uses intelligent coding to link information from multiple vehicles, enabling system-automated verification and reducing the time needed for a single vehicle to pass through customs to under 30 seconds.
