Voyah Auto's debut on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange has marked a pivotal moment for the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) as it strives to establish itself as a World Car Valley.
WEDZ, home to prominent automotive brands such as Dongfeng Yipai, Xpeng Motors, and Lotus Cars, is becoming a key player in the global new energy vehicle (NEV) market.
China's NEV production reached 16.63 million units in 2025, accounting for 48.1 percent of total vehicle output. WEDZ contributed significantly to this growth, producing 495,000 units and surpassing the national average with 54.4 percent of its production dedicated to NEVs.
Dongfeng Motor's NEV sales exceeded 1 million units in 2025, while Voyah achieved a remarkable 87 percent year-on-year growth by delivering over 150,000 vehicles. This success is propelling Wuhan and Hubei province, with the province's automotive manufacturing and services industry surpassing 1.1 trillion yuan ($159 billion) in scale.
Voyah Auto has extended its presence to over 40 countries, including Norway, Finland, and Italy, solidifying its position as a premier Chinese high-end NEV brand in Europe.
WEDZ, home to nine automakers, 14 vehicle factories, and more than 1,200 auto parts enterprises, exported 200,000 vehicles in 2025, marking a nearly 70 percent increase and fostering a balanced development between vehicle manufacturing and component production.
