Voyah, a premium brand under Dongfeng Motor Corporation specializing in new energy vehicles (NEVs), will debut on the Hong Kong Exchanges on March 19, as announced during the third plenary meeting of the Hubei delegation at the fourth session of the 14th National People's Congress on March 6.
Wang Jianqing, a representative at the conference and a veteran technician at Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle Co, provided insights into the industry's shift towards electrification and intelligence.
"As a Dongfeng frontline worker for 33 years, I have witnessed the company's steadfast commitment to advancing new energy and intelligent vehicles," Wang said.
Dongfeng unveiled a comprehensive action plan for transformation and upgrading in 2023, achieving a significant milestone by surpassing 1 million NEV sales. Dongfeng's self-owned brands accounted for over 1.55 million vehicle sales, representing more than 60 percent of total sales, highlighting a strategic pivot towards a self-branded, NEV-centric growth model.
Voyah experienced an impressive 87 percent year-on-year sales increase, while Dongfeng's M-Hero brand achieved a remarkable 387 percent growth.
