Seven factories and one industrial park in Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) have been included on the 2025 National Green Factory and Green Industrial Park list, as recently announced by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

Among the honored facilities are leading enterprises such as Intelligent Power and Haier Refrigerator, while the Wuhan Hannan Economic Development Zone has been recognized as a national green industrial park.

After the new additions, WEDZ is now home to a total of 24 national-level green factories, two national green supply chain management enterprises, and one national green industrial park.

National-level green factories serve as core demonstration entities in China's green manufacturing system, requiring companies to achieve low-carbon energy use, efficient resource utilization, clean production processes, green products, and intensive land use.

Haier Refrigerator has improved its foam material processes and upgraded its PCM board assembly lines, reducing energy consumption, carbon emissions, and water use per unit of output, while increasing the utilization rate of renewable energy.

Intelligent Power has established a 4.1MW photovoltaic power station and solar carports, setting a new benchmark for clean energy applications in the industry.

National green factories in WEDZ achieved an industrial output value of 186.4 billion yuan ($27 billion) in 2025, accounting for 54.1 percent of the zone's total large-scale industrial output.

The Hannan Economic Development Zone, also known as the Intelligent Connected and Electric Vehicle Industrial Park, focuses on next-generation automotive, intelligent manufacturing, and new energy materials as its leading industries. It is home to two national-level and two provincial-level green factories, along with 115 national high-tech enterprises.
