Dongfeng Motor Corporation has showcased its technological prowess, securing the top position in the Chinese automotive industry for the fourth consecutive year with 3,442 invention patent authorizations and 5,404 patent publications.
It also leads the smart connectivity domain with 2,049 effective patents.
This accomplishment underscores Dongfeng's ongoing investment in building a robust technological foundation. As of December 2025, the company boasts over 28,300 effective patents, establishing a comprehensive innovation framework that spans key segments of its vehicles and supply chain.
Dongfeng's Mach Power System continues to set industry benchmarks. Its self-developed 1.5T hybrid engine is the first globally to surpass a thermal efficiency of 48 percent.
The Mach Super Electric Hybrid PHEV employs a fusion architecture that integrates range extension, plug-in hybrid, and pure electric modes. The Mach pure electric drive system has been upgraded to an 800V high-voltage platform, with the next generation set to reach 1200V, achieving motor speeds exceeding 30,000 RPM and an efficiency of 98 percent.
Voyah Automobile, Dongfeng's high-end new energy vehicle brand, has developed technology that delivers over 400 kilometers of pure electric range and supports 12-minute fast charging.
Dongfeng is also making significant strides in core new energy technologies. The company has established an integrated solid-state battery R&D platform, advancing from laboratory research to pilot production.
Its 350Wh/kg semi-solid-state battery, capable of supporting a 1,000-kilometer range, has passed a 170 C thermal box safety test. The company also holds 830 hydrogen fuel cell invention patents, and its 400 kW high-power fuel cell stack is already undergoing demonstration operations in heavy-duty trucks.
Dongfeng is accelerating the development of domestic alternatives to address critical supply chain needs. The DF30 automotive-grade high-end MCU chip has achieved full-stack localization, and its high-side driver chip is now in mass production across models, with a 67 percent localization rate for chips in self-branded vehicles.
Dongfeng has also established the industry's largest 16,000-metric-ton integrated die-casting production line, enhancing vehicle lightweighting and structural strength.
Dongfeng is rapidly translating technology into mass production. Its centralized electronic and electrical architecture is now in large-scale application, providing a solid foundation for advanced intelligent driving and OTA vehicle upgrades.
