Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) hosted its 2026 Chinese New Year Symphony Concert on Feb 4, marking the first time a symphony has been performed in celebration of the holiday.
The event drew nearly 500 attendees, including representatives from major organizations such as Dongfeng Motor Corporation, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and Wuhan University of Technology.

The audience also included members of medical institutions, industry associations, and residents, all of whom were captivated by the enchanting melodies.
Tang Tian, deputy general manager of Hubei Chinese All Digital Publishing Co and an avid symphony enthusiast, expressed his excitement at attending such a high-caliber performance so close to home.
A representative from the zone's culture and tourism bureau said that hosting such prestigious cultural and artistic events enriches the zone's cultural landscape, injecting new vitality into the development of a modern WEDZ that blends industry and urban living, while also enhancing its appeal as a livable and business-friendly area.
WEDZ will also hold 68 cultural events to celebrate this year's Spring Festival, promising a season filled with joy, harmony, and cultural richness for its residents.
