Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) is welcoming the upcoming Spring Festival with a calligraphy and painting exhibition that opened on Jan 10 at the WEDZ cultural center.

Featuring the works of 110 local calligraphy and painting enthusiasts, the exhibition offers a rich tapestry of styles and themes and will be open to the public until March 15.

The exhibition combines the traditional elegance of plum blossoms, orchids, bamboo, and chrysanthemums with the timeless charm of poetry and couplets. It also reflects the dynamic innovation and modern industrial landscape of WEDZ, alongside the region's profound cultural heritage and traditions.

The WEDZ calligraphy and painting association made significant strides in 2025 in expanding its professional exhibitions and fulfilling its public mission by establishing two painting bases, setting up four calligraphy workstations, and organizing over 20 events.

It also partnered with three primary schools to integrate calligraphy and painting into their curricula, thereby enriching the cultural life of grassroots communities.

Wu Wanhao, head of the association, announced plans to continue organizing themed calligraphy and painting projects and exhibitions both online and offline.
