Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) launched a series of events on Jan 1 to celebrate the New Year, which will continue through the Spring Festival.

The celebration features a variety of activities, including sporting events, fashion shows, cultural markets, and calligraphy blessings, creating a festive atmosphere for residents.

Esteemed calligraphers crafted hundreds of Spring Festival couplets and "Fu" characters during a calligraphy event for the New Year opening ceremony, spreading New Year blessings to attendees.

A fashion show featuring over 400 participants presented a stunning visual experience, blending traditional and contemporary heritage costumes.

A health run also attracted 300 participants, with a 5-kilometer route linking several iconic sports venues, including the Wuhan Sports Center, creating a dynamic that navigated the picturesque winter landscape.

The 2025 Wuhan Public Ice and Snow Season hosted an exhilarating youth ice hockey tournament, where 11 teams from across the country competed, showcasing impressive speed and skill.

The Wuhan Sports Center opened its badminton, table tennis, and swimming facilities, drawing numerous fitness enthusiasts and welcoming approximately 3,500 visitors from Jan 1 to 2.

Outdoor exhibition areas were equally lively, featuring car brands such as Dongfeng Voyah and Yipai, along with more than 50 market stalls. Handcrafted cultural creations, specialty snacks, and interactive performances enhanced the festive atmosphere, making it a memorable celebration for all.
