Dongfeng Motor Corporation's R&D Institute and Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries Co (ZPMC) have entered into a strategic partnership to accelerate the development of smart ports.
The two industry giants recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) and initiated the establishment of the Smart Port Joint Innovation Laboratory. This collaboration will concentrate on pivotal areas such as new energy, intelligent connectivity, and marine equipment.
ZPMC, recognized as the world's largest manufacturer of port machinery and a leading provider of automated terminal systems, operates in over 110 countries and regions. The company is enhancing its core competencies in smart port technologies while pursuing digital and zero-carbon transformations.
In response to the automotive industry's shifting competitive landscape, Dongfeng Motor is investing in new energy, intelligent connectivity, and integrated "vehicle-road-cloud-star" technologies.
Per the MoU, Dongfeng Motor and ZPMC will deepen their cooperation in five critical areas: technology development, technology application, supply chain collaboration, digital cooperation, and market development.
The lab will serve as a vital platform for Dongfeng Motor and ZPMC to explore and implement innovative applications within smart port environments.
Usharing Tech, a subsidiary of Dongfeng Motor, remains committed to developing replicable and scalable smart port solutions.
