On Nov 13, the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) welcomed participants from around the globe, including the United States, Japan, and Poland, for a dynamic international cultural exchange event.

Attendees immersed themselves in Chinese culture through activities such as enjoying traditional tea, watching opera performances, and making dumplings.

A tea ceremony expert captivated the audience with the legendary story of Shennong tasting herbs and showcased the art of traditional tea brewing. A skilled pastry chef guided participants in kneading dough and rolling dumpling skins, allowing international guests to take part in hands-on cultural experiences.

"Nothing brings people closer than preparing a meal together," remarked Dr Christopher Reh, principal of Wuhan Yangtze International School, after savoring dumplings he crafted himself.

He also donned traditional Chinese opera costumes for an impromptu performance. "An hour ago, many of us were strangers, but now we are friends. This is the charm of Chinese culture."

Mateusz Jan Jedrzejko from Poland, who has lived and worked in Wuhan for nearly a decade, shared his enthusiasm: "I learned how to make dumplings and perform opera movements today. It was a rewarding experience."

WEDZ, Wuhan's most internationalized area, is home to nearly 500 multinational enterprises, including industry giants like Cummins and Aptiv. The zone has enhanced its international business environment, establishing key facilities such as ISA Wuhan International School, the international medical campus at Tongji Hospital, and various international communities.
