Tongji Hospital, affiliated with Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, has launched the Tongji Junshan Headache and Dizziness Center.
The center combines the latest technological advancements with a multidisciplinary team to focus on the diagnosis and treatment of headache disorders, including primary headaches such as migraines, tension-type headaches, and cluster headaches, as well as secondary headaches like medication-overuse headaches and cervicogenic headaches.
The center also addresses dizziness, vertigo, and balance disorders, including vestibular migraines, Ménière's disease, vestibular neuritis, Parkinson's disease, cerebrovascular diseases, degenerative disorders, and neuropsychological conditions.
The center has introduced several cutting-edge technologies, such as transcranial magnetic stimulation therapy systems, video head impulse testing for vestibular function assessment, virtual reality desensitization rehabilitation systems, and biofeedback therapy devices. These technologies offer new non-invasive neuroregulation options for patients and explore innovative treatments like brain-computer interfaces.
It will also develop four major platforms focusing on clinical diagnosis and treatment, scientific research innovation, talent cultivation, and regional collaboration, aiming to standardize headache and dizziness diagnostic and treatment training, while also promoting the adoption of standardized procedures at primary hospitals in Hubei province and surrounding regions.
