The China Electronics Cloud (CEC) R&D Base in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) has commenced operations.

This 5 billion yuan ($703.14 million) facility is designed to deliver secure, reliable, and intelligent computing power solutions tailored for AI enterprises, large model companies, and research institutions.

A highlight of the base is the intelligent computing center, which has become a vital public computing service platform in the region. Hu Chao, vice-president of CEC, said that over 90 percent of the center's initial 100 petaflops of computing power are already in use.

A standout success story involves a large model enterprise located 1,000 kilometers from Wuhan, which has improved its model iteration efficiency by three times, thanks to the center's robust computing power.

CEC's proprietary "Intelligence Government Model" is already being used in the "Digital WEDZ" project, facilitating government and public services such as inquiries, reasoning analysis, and intelligent Q&A.

The center supports nearly 10 enterprises, large model manufacturers, and academic research institutions, including Neusoft Reach and Voyah Motos. It has also introduced the DeepSeek model, providing users with customized, secure, and intelligent computing power solutions.

CEC's cloud-data-intelligence products are applied across a wide array of areas, including airports, hospitals, and environmental protection. Hu emphasized a key focus for CEC: "We aim to equip thousands of objects with simple neural networks, enabling self-organization and intelligent response."
