The Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ), renowned as China Auto Valley, is embarking on a transformative journey with the development of the Houguan Lake area.

Over the past three decades, WEDZ has transitioned from a single vehicle production site into a dynamic urban center, now hosting 10 automobile manufacturers, 14 car assembly plants, and over 1,400 auto parts companies.

WEDZ is focusing on ambitious urban renewal initiatives, aiming to transform the Houguan Lake area into a dynamic headquarters cluster. This transformation is set to improve the quality of life for residents and drive the high-quality growth of China Auto Valley.

Last year, WEDZ launched a large-scale urban renovation project that will convert six villages into modern communities, enhancing the lives of over 15,000 residents. This transformation will establish the area as a hub for innovation-driven, industry-city integration, and create an eco-friendly, livable community.

Infrastructure improvements are central to this initiative, with enhancements in education, healthcare, and transportation, including the addition of a new station on Line 3 of the metro.

The Houguan Lake Headquarters Area is poised to host the headquarters of over 20 companies, including industry giants like Dongfeng Motor and iFlytek. Key developments include the Lakeside Villa complex, which will combine offices, commerce, and residential options.

The area will also host the China Urban-Rural Headquarters Economic Industrial Park, the University Innovation Economic Belt, the Financial Services Zone, and the Business and Leisure Zone, supporting sustainable development and ensuring a harmonious blend of nature and urban life.
