Over 50 international students from prestigious institutions, including the University of Oxford, visited the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) on July 21 to gain firsthand insight into its high-quality development.
A major highlight of their visit was the Dongfeng M-Hero, China's first luxury electric off-road brand. The M817 model launched on July 17 and received nearly 10,000 pre-orders within the first hour.
The M-Hero Technology Park, which combines intelligent manufacturing, high-end customization, off-road experiences, and a green zero-carbon approach, boasts Hubei's first "transparent factory" and an off-road experience track, offering enthusiasts a world-class off-road experience.
The M-Hero vehicles captivated the students. Amid their enthusiastic admiration, they snapped photos and explored the vehicle interiors. One particularly agile student even climbed onto the roof for a memorable snapshot.

Clement Antoine from the University of Oxford was among the first to jump into the M817, experiencing its powerful performance through steep climbs and water crossings. Afterwards, he exclaimed, "The M-Hero is so cool, it's my dream car!"
The students also learned about WEDZ's 30-year development journey and observed demonstrations of advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and vehicle-road collaboration.
Immersive experiences, including Apollo Go, an autonomous driving service provider, left Benjamin Aaron from the University of Oxford excited: "The industry in WEDZ is future-oriented. When I return to the UK, I'll create a vlog of this unforgettable experience to share with my family and friends."
