Wuhan Vertifly Aviation Technology Co has signed an agreement with Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) to establish a headquarters for the research and manufacturing of heavy-duty drones.

The headquarters will focus on producing drone systems, power systems, and control systems, alongside the processing and assembling of key drone components. It will enhance real-world applications of the low-altitude economy and enrich the industrial ecosystem in the zone.

Vertifly boasts a portfolio of over 400 core proprietary intellectual properties. It is the only company in China with an autonomous and high-reliability full industrial chain for heavy-duty drones and aero engines.

Its drone product line supports payloads ranging from 100 to 2,000 kilograms and is applicable in agriculture, logistics, and emergency response. Its engine products are compatible with 80 percent of the country's small general aviation aircraft and drones.

The low-altitude economy is one of the five emerging industries in WEDZ, which recently established the General Aviation Industrial Park and the Wuhan Hannan General Airport as part of efforts to develop a comprehensive low-altitude economic industrial chain.

The zone has also opened short-distance passenger routes from Wuhan to Shiyan and Jingzhou.

Authorities will strengthen services and support, ensuring the project starts operating promptly, progresses swiftly, and achieves results early," said the head of the General Aviation Industrial Park.
