The 19th Hubei-Wuhan Taiwan Week Cross-Strait (Wuhan) New Energy and Intelligent Connected Vehicle Industry Integration and Development Exchange Conference was convened in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) on July 4.

During this conference, the Cross-Strait (Wuhan) Intelligent Connected Vehicle Industry Integration Demonstration Base was launched, signifying a new phase of innovation and collaborative development for the automotive sectors of Wuhan and Taiwan.

According to the outlined three-year action plan, the base will utilize WEDZ's Intelligent Connected and Electric Vehicle Industrial Park as its core platform, with the intention of introducing a benchmark for cross-Strait collaboration within the intelligent connected vehicle industry.

The primary objective will be to advance the intelligent connected and new energy vehicle sectors, elevating cross-Strait automotive cooperation from "industrial chain complementarity" to "innovation chain symbiosis" and "ecosystem co-construction." This approach aims to accelerate the formation of a more internationally competitive automotive industry landscape.

WEDZ is committed to setting up an international intelligent connected vehicle industrial cluster by 2027 and aims to position itself among the foremost entities in China's new energy and intelligent connected vehicle industry.

This initiative will create a business cluster for Taiwan enterprises, enhance technological and talent cooperation with Taiwan firms, and facilitate the transformation and upgrading of Taiwan businesses in Wuhan. Additionally, it will strengthen industrial chain integration, improve financial service support, and develop a new intelligent connected vehicle industrial ecosystem.

By 2027, WEDZ anticipates cultivating three to five Taiwan-invested research and development institutions or pilot platforms to promote technological achievements, as well as advancing ten collaborative technological innovation projects across the Strait.

The base is designed to foster cooperation between Wuhan and Taiwan in the intelligent vehicle industry.
