Guangzhou Hybot Technology Co has commenced small-scale delivery and commercial trial operations of its groundbreaking H49 model, the world's first hydrogen fuel cell heavy truck engineered for long-haul logistics.

The H49 sets a new standard with a hydrogen consumption rate of just 7.8 kilograms per 100 kilometers and an impressive range of over 1,000 km. The model is expected to achieve mass production by 2026, according to Hu Jingjing, a representative from Hybot.

Hu emphasized the distinct advantages of hydrogen fuel cell heavy-duty trucks over their pure electric counterparts, particularly in scenarios demanding heavy loads, extended distances, low energy loss, cold environments, and rapid refueling capability.

The H49 features an innovative design with a hydrogen-electric integrated smart chassis, a new low-drag, ultra-lightweight intelligent cabin, and a cross-domain integrated electronic architecture that supports software-defined vehicles (SDV).

In 2021, Hybot established a vehicle R&D center in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ). A dedicated team of over 100 researchers has developed the H49 model over the past two years.

Xiong Baoping, Hybot's CTO, highlighted WEDZ as an ideal location for passenger and commercial vehicles due to its comprehensive supply chain, abundant talent, testing facilities, and robust infrastructure. Hybot is committed to utilizing these resources to drive the scalable operation of hydrogen-powered heavy-duty trucks in the region.
