Wuhan Fanzhou Harmonic Drive Co in Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) has unveiled a groundbreaking 700-gram silver metallic ring, boasting a transmission accuracy of less than one arc minute and a lifespan exceeding 10,000 hours, meeting international top-tier standards.

This innovative component is a harmonic reducer, a crucial "joint" for humanoid robots. Each humanoid robot requires over 20 reducers, with harmonic reducers comprising up to 70 percent of these components.

Fanzhou began its harmonic reducer R&D project in 2022 and has since completed the design and prototype manufacturing of these essential components for humanoid robots. The company is currently in the critical testing phase, with plans for mass production by 2027.

The R&D team has also developed an endurance testing platform that incorporates automotive transmission testing experience, simulating 10 years of high-load robot operation.

Fanzhou Harmonic was established in May by Wuhan Fanzhou Precision Technology Co, a leader with 30 years of expertise in automotive transmission system precision components.
