Tongji Hospital Junshan Campus inaugurated its state-of-the-art Neurology Center and Sports Medicine Center on May 21 in Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ).
The Neurology Center delves into advanced fields like neurointerventional surgery. It has established standardized neurological rehabilitation units, offering comprehensive assessments and a wide range of services for neurological function disorders.
According to Guo Dongsheng, executive dean of the Junshan Campus, renowned neurosurgery experts will rotate at the hospital for consultations and surgeries from Monday to Friday.
Guo added that the facility has cutting-edge medical technology, including high-resolution MRI systems, the latest digital subtraction angiography machines, and surgical microscopes.
This enables the hospital to perform advanced medical procedures such as microsurgical removal of cranial tumors, aneurysm clipping/embolization, cerebral angiography, and acute stroke thrombectomy.
The Sports Medicine Center focuses on treating and recovering joint, muscle, and tendon injuries. Professor Xiao Jun, the center's director, highlighted that it is equipped with a 4K ultra-high-definition arthroscopy system, C-arm fluoroscopy machines, lower limb traction beds, and upper limb spider arm systems.
The center also features a fluoroscopy-standard operating room, which enables a variety of surgeries, such as cartilage transplantation under arthroscopy and multi-ligament knee injury repair and reconstruction.
A representative from Tongji Hospital announced plans for the Junshan Campus, including establishing a Sleep Medicine Center, accelerating clinical research, and adapting frontier technologies like brain-computer interfaces.
