King Charles III of the United Kingdom has expanded his distinguished collection of luxury vehicles with the acquisition of a high-performance electric car manufactured in Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ).

This latest addition, the Lotus Eletre, is valued at £120,000 ($162,679) and reflects the king's commitment to eco-friendly transportation. His choice of the Lotus Eletre has been warmly received by environmentalists and is seen as a significant endorsement of zero-emission cars by the royal family.

The Lotus Eletre is described as an "ultra-luxury electric SUV", combining top-tier performance with sustainable design. It will be delivered to one of the king's royal estates for personal use during non-official engagements. The vehicle is set to be painted in traditional royal crimson, known as "royal purple", adding a personalized touch to this environmentally conscious choice.

The Lotus Eletre boasts a range of 450 kilometers. Its dual-motor power system delivers an impressive 905 horsepower, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour (around per hour) in just 2.9 seconds, with a top speed of 260 kilometers per hour (about per hour).

Lotus Cars, a prestigious British sports car brand founded in 1948, was acquired by China's Geely Holding Group in 2017. In August 2021, Lotus Technology was established with its global headquarters in WEDZ. This facility integrates resources from China, the UK, and Germany to produce ultra-premium electric vehicles for the global market.
