Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) unveiled a series of innovative attractions during the May Day holiday, drawing a steady increase in visitors.
Visitors had the chance to experience low-altitude flights, paddleboarding, and camping, all set against the backdrop of the zone's natural beauty.
In Zhuge town, a 2,000-square-meter waterfront area featured a popular paddleboarding experience. The town has also developed a new model where visitors participated in "pick-and-eat" activities and educational workshops, such as jam-making and potato carving. These activities led to a 180 percent increase in sales of local agricultural product.

Li Jian, general manager of the town's Operations Management Center, noted that the site attracted an average of 8,500 visitors per day during the holiday, drawing both local residents and tourists from cities like Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou.
Adventure enthusiasts flocked to the National Aviation Flight Camp for the thrill of flying in trikes and navigating all-terrain vehicles over rugged terrain. Feng Guofeng, head of the camp, reported a peak of over 5,000 visitors in a single day. The camp's aviation camping, bonfire parties, and fireworks shows also enjoyed great popularity.
From May 1 to 5, WEDZ's cultural and tourism attractions experienced a 16 percent year-on-year increase in visitors. The average occupancy rate of star-rated hotels reached 85 percent, an 8 percent increase compared to the previous year.
