The Junshan New City Investment and Talent Attraction Conference was held on April 12 in Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ).
Over 400 industry experts, distinguished HUST alumni entrepreneurs, and representatives from renowned enterprises and financial institutions gathered to witness a new chapter in integrating academia and local development, aiming for a future of collaborative success.
Liu Ziqing, Party secretary of WEDZ, emphasized the symbiotic relationship between alumni and the city, highlighting the alumni economy as a crucial driving force for urban development. Liu added that WEDZ is committed to creating a favorable business environment that ensures a conducive atmosphere for entrepreneurship and development.
Zhang Tao, deputy Party secretary of HUST, noted the longstanding cooperation between the university and WEDZ, citing projects such as the construction of the Junshan Campus, the establishment of Tongji Junshan Hospital, and the layout of the Future Technology Innovation Institute. He hoped this event would enable more scientific achievements from HUST to take root and flourish in Junshan New City, fostering a new era of industrial development through alumni collaboration.
Zhu Xiaohan, deputy director of the WEDZ administrative committee, outlined Junshan's strategic plan to implement three industry, infrastructure, and urban functionality projects to create an innovation hub and invited alumni and entrepreneurs to invest in the city.
Ten high-quality projects were secured, and strategic cooperation agreements with financial institutions such as Hubei Bank and Pudong Development Bank were also signed. The conference featured keynote speeches on cutting-edge topics like new energy vehicles and industrial park development by leaders from Dongfeng Research Institute, Voyah Automobile, and others.
In addition, a special session on the automotive supply chain was held, where participants and company representatives visited the HUST Junshan Campus and the Wuhan Intelligent Connected Vehicle Testing Ground.
