Dongfeng Motor: Pioneering advanced technology and green manufacturing

Dongfeng Motor Corporation in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) is at the forefront of the automotive industry, with an impressive portfolio of 24,400 effective patents. 

Central to Dongfeng's green manufacturing initiative is the cutting-edge Dongfeng Voyah 4.0 digital factory in WEDZ. Using Dongfeng's proprietary full-stack intelligent electric "Quantum Architecture", this facility achieves exceptional integration, energy efficiency, and smart manufacturing capabilities, with a new vehicle rolling off the production line every 118 seconds. 

The factory utilizes an advanced AI visual inspection system, ensuring the precise assembly of different models, colors, and configurations. Supported by a fully integrated 5G network, Dongfeng has implemented a flexible "mass customization" production model. This allows a single production line to produce multiple models, providing consumers with various configuration options. 

Dongfeng Motors has also launched its "Dongfeng Hydrogen Boat" brand, focusing on the comprehensive value chain of hydrogen energy research and development. With 70kW, 150kW, and 350kW hydrogen power platforms, it caters to diverse applications, including passenger transport, logistics, and sanitation, with a cumulative demonstration operation mileage surpassing 500,000 kilometers. 

By the end of 2024, Dongfeng had filed 830 invention patents in the hydrogen energy sector. In January, the company introduced its independently developed hydrogen fuel cell stack, a significant milestone featuring a single stack power exceeding 400kW and the capability to start in temperatures as low as -40 C.

Dongfeng Motor is also advancing intelligent driving technology, enhancing smart ports with critical technologies such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and big data. It is building an innovative ecosystem for smart ports that is efficient, highly collaborative, safe, and environmentally friendly.
