Eighty young professionals from Dongfeng Motor Research Institute and Midea Group have moved into their new homes following Wuhan Economic Development Industry Investment Group Co's (WEDIIG) handover of the "Jingkai–You+" Talent Apartments (Yinhu Yunzhu Branch) on Feb 21.

An employee surnamed Zhu, who joined Midea Group's Wuhan HVAC Equipment Co earlier this year, expressed her excitement upon receiving her keys. "This apartment is amazing, with elegant decoration and fully equipped appliances. I can move in with just my luggage," she said.

The "Jingkai–You+" apartments are the latest personalized and interconnected talent housing developed by WEDIIG's subsidiary. The first phase includes 80 units, ranging from 35 to 45 square meters, with one-bedroom and two-bedroom options.

Each unit is fully furnished with branded appliances, furniture, and smart living facilities, making them "move-in ready". Over 200 rental applications were received during the project acceptance phase, leading to full occupancy upon delivery.

"Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) is truly a great place to live and work," said a research fellow surnamed Wang from Dongfeng Research Institute after touring the talent apartments. "The rapidly developing new energy and new materials industries in the zone align perfectly with my professional background. Living in these talent apartments will make my work much more convenient."

In recent years, WEDZ has implemented a robust talent strategy, creating a comprehensive talent service ecosystem. By the end of 2024, the zone had built 8,000 talent apartments and plans to increase this number to over 10,000 units in the first quarter of this year. This will help more than 20,000 young professionals solve their housing needs.

"WEDIIG will also develop the International Talent Community, Low-Altitude Economy Research Base, and other diverse and multi-level apartment projects," said a WEDIIG representative. "In the future, we plan to expand more diversified talent community benchmark projects. We will explore a rent-and-purchase mechanism to ensure that young professionals in the zone can afford to live comfortably."
