On Feb 25, the Dongfeng Honda S7 rolled off the production line at the Dongfeng Honda New Energy Plant in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ).
"In the fiercely competitive electric vehicle market, Honda has introduced the S7 model specifically for the Chinese market, positioning it as a cornerstone in the company's electrification strategy," said Muneharu Sakai, deputy general manager of Dongfeng Honda.
The S7 boasts advanced electrification and intelligent technologies. It features the Yunchi Intelligent Efficient Pure Electric W Architecture, an intelligent and comfortable cabin that combines functionality, aesthetics, and superior manufacturing quality from Honda's first global new energy plant.
Dongfeng Honda has been a significant presence in WEDZ for over 20 years, serving over 8 million users and offering a comprehensive range of products, including more than 10 electrified vehicle models.
It is expanding its footprint in fuel and new energy vehicle markets, developing an electrified product lineup of sedans, SUVs, and MPVs, including hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and pure electric powertrains.
The Dongfeng Honda New Energy Plant in WEDZ began production in October 2024. The Lingxi L, the first pure electric model equipped with multiple cutting-edge technologies, has become a flagship product in Dongfeng Honda's electrification transition.
The launch of the S7 represents a significant milestone in Dongfeng Honda's electrification journey. The company aims to introduce more than 10 electrified products by 2030.
