Tang Chao, director of the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) administrative committee, promoted the zone's favorable policies to participants of the first Dajun Mountain Intelligent Vehicle Science & Technology Conference on Dec 20.
Tang highlighted that WEDZ currently boasts a world-class cluster of complete vehicle and auto parts industries, with a new energy vehicle production capacity exceeding 1.4 million units.
WEDZ has achieved technological breakthroughs in four key areas of vehicle-grade chips: intelligent cockpit chips, intelligent driving chips, power semiconductor chips, and microcontroller chips.
In the "AI-powered and software-defined vehicles" sector, WEDZ is prioritizing the development of large-scale autonomous driving models, cross-platform operating systems, and automotive embedded systems.
WEDZ is also leading the promotion of intelligent driving applications by advancing legislation, conducting demonstration operations, building infrastructure, developing cloud networks, and establishing a commercial closed loop.
Tang emphasized that WEDZ will fully support the development of intelligent connected vehicle enterprises through market expansion, direct investment funds, talent recruitment, and research and development.
