The Nantaizi Lake AI Industrial Park in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) has been named one of the first city-level AI industrial parks. This designation marks a significant milestone in Wuhan's efforts to advance its artificial intelligence industry.
These parks will enhance infrastructure, build innovation platforms, strengthen enterprise cultivation, coordinate investment attraction, recruit high-level talent, and improve financial services.
The Nantaizi Lake AI Industrial Park uses AI to empower sectors such as new energy and intelligent connected vehicles, smart cities, intelligent manufacturing, and smart education. It aims to become a primary source of original AI innovation, focusing on the automotive and transportation industries.
As of the end of last year, the park had attracted over 900 tech innovation enterprises, including leading AI companies like ECARX, SiEngine, and Neusoft Group. It has nurtured 306 high-tech enterprises and secured over 10,000 intellectual property authorizations.
In recent years, WEDZ has promoted AI-driven industrial development. It has facilitated 11 AI enterprises with annual revenues exceeding 100 million yuan ($13.99 million) each and incubated over 200 small and medium-sized enterprises, including HuanYu ZhiXing, a leader in autonomous driving algorithms and a top supplier of computing equipment.
Last year, the AI industry in the WEDZ exceeded 10 billion yuan, accounting for 20 percent of the city's total.
