Local media reported on Oct 23 that the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) has been chosen as the site for the national key project "Establishing a New Generation of Cybersecurity Testing Technology System for Intelligent Connected Vehicles".

This initiative is one of only 20 projects nationwide recognized for its potential to drive industrial optimization and upgrading.

The project aims to develop a comprehensive cybersecurity testing framework for intelligent connected vehicles, addressing the growing challenges of vehicle information security.

In recent years, WEDZ has focused on digital and intelligent development, leading efforts in technological innovation, standards development, testing, and demonstration applications for these vehicles.

In 2019, the National Intelligent Connected Vehicle (Wuhan) Testing and Demonstration Zone was established within WEDZ, making it China's sixth national-level testing zone.

At a recent progress meeting, leaders from the project's key undertakers reported advancements in three critical areas of cybersecurity testing: hardware security, data security, and software security.

These organizations have pledged to continue developing and validating vehicle information security testing, ensuring alignment with national standards. Their efforts aim to enhance the industry's cybersecurity capabilities, facilitating industrial optimization and growth.
