5th China Advanced Materials Industry Development Conference opens in WEDZ

Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ), also known as China Auto Valley, hosted the fifth China Advanced Materials Industry Development Conference on Oct 17. 

The event brought together over 20 esteemed academicians and more than 6,000 experts, scholars, and industry leaders from the business and investment sectors. 

The conference featured 80 sub-conferences and forums, as well as concurrent events such as the second China New Materials Technology Application Conference and the third China Advanced Materials Investment Conference. These events aimed to spotlight core breakthroughs in the new materials industry and explore pathways for advancing new quality productive forces.

Tang Chao, director of the WEDZ administrative committee, noted that the new materials sector is one of five emerging industries in the zone. It is focused on automotive lightweighting, electrification, and intelligence.

The unveiling of the New Materials Industrial Park was a significant highlight of the event. Ten new material projects were signed and established in the zone, including the intelligent perception sensor chip R&D and production project and 10 new material innovation achievement transformation projects. 

Various activities, including enterprise-expert matchmaking meetings, were also held to enhance the innovation ecosystem of the zone's new materials industry.
