The first phase of the Digital Economy Industrial Park in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) is currently under construction and is expected to be operational by May next year, as announced by Zong Liangqiong, general manager of Wuhan Intelligent Automobile Software Park Development Co at the AI Innovation Drives the Future of Software forum on Sept 24.
Zong noted that the industrial park will span approximately 730,000 square meters and will integrate research and development, production, pilot testing, office spaces, living quarters, and leisure facilities.
Zong added that the industrial park will provide comprehensive functional spaces, support mechanisms, and innovation services over the next three years.
Wuhan is accelerating innovation and R&D in software technologies for emerging fields such as intelligent connected vehicles. By 2025, the city's software business revenue is projected to exceed 400 billion yuan ($56.96 billion), with a target of 450 billion yuan, according to authorities.
