The GNSS and LBS Association of China released the 2024 China Beidou Industry Development Index Report on Sept 12 during the conference on BDS applications, also known as the 13th China GNSS & LBS Annual Conference, in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone.
The report reveals that as of the end of June 2024, the number of various types of Beidou terminal devices in use across China increased by over 4 million units compared to the same period last year, marking a 17.4 percent year-on-year growth.
Furthermore, the number of Beidou terminal devices used in key industries vital to the national economy and people's well-being exceeded 20 million units.
Beidou has become a standard feature in consumer products such as smartphones and wearable devices, integrating seamlessly into everyday life.
Yu Xiancheng, director of the GNSS and LBS Association of China, noted that by further integrating Beidou with technologies such as 5G, cloud computing, big data, and artificial intelligence, Beidou will contribute even more significantly to the high-quality development of China's digital economy.
