The national trade-in program for consumer goods was launched in Wuhan on Aug 28 to promote "Made in Hubei" products across China and the global stage.

At the launch event, six trade-in-related projects were signed, with a total value of 18 billion yuan ($2.54 billion). Three of these projects, totaling over 12 billion yuan, will be based in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ).

Among the key agreements, Voyah Automobile, a high-end EV brand of Dongfeng Motor Corporation, signed a cooperation agreement with Guizhou Tourism Industry Development Group Co.

This partnership aims to create a new tourism travel model focusing on vehicle leasing, brand promotion, and customized travel services.

Dongfeng Zhuolian Automobile Service Co's sales headquarters and Uxin Group's intelligent automotive industrial base projects will be established in WEDZ, significantly supporting the national trade-in program.

The 10-billion-yuan headquarters will focus on vehicle sales and after-sales services, supporting brands such as Dongfeng Fengshen, Dongfeng Nissan, and Dongfeng Voyah.

Uxin Group will invest 2 billion yuan to build an automotive industrial base in the zone, providing repair, storage, display, trading, transfer, and after-sales services.

Zhou Zhiping, general manager of Dongfeng Motor Corporation, stated that his company is accelerating its product upgrades towards high-end, intelligent, and green solutions. Since implementing the national trade-in program, Dongfeng has introduced a 10-billion yuan subsidy for vehicle replacements, offering a one-stop service for car loans, trade-ins, and resource recycling. A total of 163,000 vehicles have been replaced under this initiative.
