Liu Hao and Ji Bowen clinched gold in the Men's 500m Canoe Double final at the Paris Olympics on Aug 8 – marking China's 26th gold in the games.
Ji Bowen, a standout athlete, is a 2022 student of sports training at Jianghan University, located in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone – situated in Wuhan, capital of Central China's Hubei province.
Born in 2002 in Meixi town, Anji, Huzhou, Ji Bowen emerged as a promising talent in the national canoeing team after the Tokyo Olympics.
With the fearless determination of a young contender, he made great strides in various competitions last year, earning him the opportunity to partner with the more experienced Liu Hao.
Under the leadership of Liu, Ji has seen rapid improvement, both in technical skills and on-the-spot decision-making. All in all, their partnership has proven to be a winning combination, bringing home a prestigious Olympic gold for China.
