Aptiv further invests 2b yuan in WEDZ

On March 21, the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) welcomed the landing of Aptiv's new factory project.

Aptiv is a globally renowned automotive parts supplier that delivers a full range of advanced connection solutions to make vehicles safer, greener, and more connected. Its Wuhan branch has an annual output value of 1.9 billion yuan ($267.9 million), and serves companies such as Dongfeng and GAC.

The new factory project has an investment of 2 billion yuan to build a factory for new energy vehicle (NEV) charging products (high-voltage charging sockets) and high-voltage connectors. The project is expected to be located in Junshan New City.

Bill Presley, Aptiv's global vice president and chief operating officer, stated that the speed at which new technologies are adopted in the Chinese market is unparalleled anywhere else in the world. Currently, WEDZ is home to eight complete vehicle enterprises, 11 automobile production factories, and over 500 automotive parts enterprises.
