On Jan 29, Liu Ziqing, secretary of the working committee, and Tang Chao, director of the management committee of the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ), led a team to visit Dongfeng Motor Co.
WEDZ and Dongfeng signed a strategic cooperation agreement to promote the high-quality development of Dongfeng's Wuhan base.
According to the agreement, Dongfeng will establish a global innovation center in the zone, increase its research and development investment, and work with WEDZ to accelerate the transformation of Dongfeng's Wuhan base towards electrification and intelligence.
Dongfeng's global innovation center will integrate the company's research and development institute, its affiliated advanced materials and advanced technology research center, its software engineering research center, and its technology exhibition center.
At the same time, Dongfeng will also work with various leading new energy and intelligent connected vehicle enterprises to create an innovation talent hub in the zone.
Liu Ziqing expressed gratitude for Dongfeng's outstanding contributions to the development of the WEDZ over the years. He stated that the zone will continue to fully support the company in building a global innovation center, expanding its domestic and international markets, and creating new development momentums.
